Mieshelle Nagelschneider, ACCBC, is a cat behaviorist and author of the science-based cat behavior book, The Cat Whisperer (Random House Publishing). Her passion and curiosity about cats, along with her study in animal behavior, has enabled her to help thousands of cat owners solve their cats' behavior issues for over two decades.
In addition to her cat advocate platforms like anti-declawing and elevating the status of the black cat, Mieshelle believes that saving millions of cats from euthanasia each year begins with cat owners understanding the often misunderstood companion animal that is as wild as we have become civilized.
Mieshelle has guest starred as The Cat Whisperer on Animal Planet and recently finished filming a cat behavior documentary for National Geographic. She was the International Cat Behavior Expert for Whiskas traveling the globe with the mission to elevate the status of the cat and promoting black cat adoption with the Animal Welfare League.
Nationally and internationally, Mieshelle is a frequent contributor and guest on T.V., radio, and publications, including Animal Planet, Fox, USA Today, The Circle, The Sunrise Show, Martha Stewart Living Radio, Zoo Peeps, This Wildlife, New York Post, Cat Fancy Magazine, Salon.com, New Republic, Feline Wellness, Petside.com, Cat Channel, The Daily Cat, and Pets Magazine.
Mieshelle opened the doors to The Cat Behavior Clinic, LLC, in 1999 where she and veterinarian Dr. James Shultz conduct behavior consultations. Visit the clinic website at: www.thecatbehaviorclinic.com
"To understand cats one has to understand how different they are from us. It is Mieshelle's tremendous appreciation for the instincts of our most wild of companion animals and her insight into the human condition that makes her a cat whisperer". Jordan Carlton Schaul, PhD -- Contributing Editor, National Geographic Society and Curator, Orange County Zoo
"I wish I read The Cat Whisperer book before I started filming Must Love Cats. The cats would have liked me a lot more." From John Fulton – Animal Planet's Must Love Cats
