While the temperatures drop around most of the country, in Alabama, even October can be a scorcher. That's why pet parents in the Tuscaloosa area are waiting with baited breath for the annual Dog Splash event, according to the TuscaloosaNews.com
Now in its fourth year, organizers at the animal rescue organization T-Town Paws added the Wag n' Walk to the day's event, a 5K race that participants can enjoy with their four-legged friends by their side.
After the course is completed, furry friends and their owners have the option of heading to the Dog Splash, where animals and humans can swim with one another at a local pool from 10am until 2pm.
Lynn Jarreau, executive director for T-Town Paws, emphasized the importance of adopting from a rescue shelter
"People can be a bit timid when it comes to rescued dogs, but they're just like any other animal looking for a home," she told the news outlet.
Individuals hoping to add a furry friend to their family may want to head to their local rescue shelter and see what pups are available for adoption.
