A British cat named Oscar currently has quite the interesting paw print. According to the Huffington Post
, the 2 1/2-year-old feline, whose hind legs were mangled in an accident last year, is now sporting a set of prosthetic paws.
The incident happened in October, when Oscar had an unfortunate encounter with a piece of farming equipment. Understandably distraught, his parents, Kate and Mike Nolan, rushed the kitty to their local veterinarian. He got patched up, but was later referred to Dr Noel Fitzpatrick, a neuro-orthopedic surgeon who practices outside of London.
That's when Fitzpatrick got a hare-brained idea - build a pair of prosthetic paws for the animal. After successfully completing the process, the doctor couldn't be more pleased.
"Oscar can now run and jump about as cats should do," Fitzpatrick told the news source.
While things are looking up for this particular cat, many other disabled kittens in animal rescue
shelters need care and love. Those who are looking for a new furry friend may want to adopt one of these needy felines and bring them home to their family.
