A daring animal rescue
was turned on its head when a Good Samaritan got stuck in a tree, according to BBC News
The news source reports that a man from Devon, England spotted a cat in a conifer. After realizing the feline needed help, he climbed up the tall shrub and attempted to coax the animal down.
That's when the situation turned bizarre. While the kitten was able to escape the situation, the unnamed man realized he couldn't see where to put his feet. By that point, it was dark and visibility was low.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spoke with the news source and gave them all the hairy details.
"He had been there for about 20 minutes and fortunately he had his mobile phone on him and was able to call us, otherwise he might have had to stay up the tree for longer or risk injury trying to climb down," he told the news outlet.
While pet owners may be concerned if their cat climbs up a tree, experts advise people to stay calm. In fact, the animal will usually come down on its own.
