Bob Barker, the legendary host of the price is right, has a soft spot for animals. He has worked to help animals
for years, and the tragic death of a SeaWorld trainer recently prompted him to spring into action again.
Barker wrote a letter to the owners of SeaWorld asking that they release
all of their marine mammals and permanently close all of the exhibits, according to USA Today.
The news source reports that the letter reads, "The death of yet another trainer at SeaWorld did not have to happen, and I must appeal to you to take strong action now so that it never happens again."
Though it is unlikely that the tourist attraction will elect to voluntarily dispose of their main attraction, the conversation about the ethics and safety of keeping large marine mammals at venues such as SeaWorld is likely to continue.
"We have every intention of continuing to interact with this animal, though the procedures for working with him will change," SeaWorld said in a statement they released yesterday.
