Americans view their pets as being a part of the family and often bring them on vacations and trips so they can enjoy some rest and relaxation as well.
A recent survey conducted by the U.S. Travel Association found that 18 percent of leisure travelers said they took their pet with them on a trip this past year. Luckily, our furry friends don't have to feel alone when staying at certain hotels and resorts.MSNBC
reports that there's a growing trend of having animals on staff to assist with guest relations of both the two and four-legged kind.
These lovable pets not only help animals
and their human companions settle in, but they help lead tours around the property or city, mingle with guests in the lobbies and even host daily happy hours.
Hotels and resorts in cities like Boston, New York and San Francisco have a resident dog or feline that holds titles like Director of Pet Relations or Canine Ambassador. Many properties also offer packages for those who are interested in bringing their furry friend with them, which include pampering for both owner and animal and even special treats and desserts.
Travelers are encouraged to call ahead to make sure hotels are able to accommodate pets.
