From now until June 30th, many cats are up for adoption through the Carroll Animal rescue
organization in Iowa, according to a recent report from 1380 KCIM News.
While cat adoption fees will be waved, "all other adoption policies and thorough match-making procedures will remain in effect," says the news source.
June is Adopt-A-Shelter-Cat Month, sponsored by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, and many animal rescue centers throughout the country will be offering discounts as well as special offers to commemorate the month.
Female cats spayed before their first litter are often healthier than cats spayed later on, according to the Humane Society. Spaying and neutering pets is one of the most effective ways to turn around the problem of animal overpopulation. One should visit a local shelter or veterinarian for more information.
