A bunch of celebrities put their best foot forward to help animals
and raise money for needy dogs, according to The Associated Press
Patterns for Paws, a fashion show that featured scores of starlets and well-dressed pooches, collected more than $30,000 in ticket sales alone. The proceeds will go on to help The Amanda Foundation, an animal rescue
center in the Los Angeles area which takes in pets before they are euthanized.
"My animals keep me sane. They are my life," Pauley Perrette, who stars on NCIS as Abby Scuito, told the news source.
The host of the evening was Nigel Lythgoe, producer of American Idol who later talked about his desire to be a pet owner.
"My ex-wife Bonnie thought I was crazy to take on two dogs - and one of the dogs was named Bonnie. So I've got another woman who doesn't listen to me now," he kiddingly admitted to the crowd.
According to The Amanda Foundation's website, every year more than 200,000 pets are euthanized in Los Angeles' 28 shelters.
