Planning a vacation can be a very stressful ordeal, especially if there's a dog involved. According to the American Pet Products
Association (APPA), 46.3 million American households own a dog - representing approximately 40 percent of the country.
In Lafayette, California, Suzette Tardo created Camp Bow Wow, which treats its dogs as "campers" and the dog owners as "parents," The Daily Advertiser reports. At Camp Bow Wow, "parents" bring their "campers" to the facility where the dogs can socialize and exercise with other dogs, while the owners can go on their vacation.
"We have anywhere between 50 and 100 campers a day here during the summer," Tardo told the source. "Parents are going on vacation, kids are going away to camp, and the heat is hard on the dogs. You can't just leave them outside all day."
There are also hotels that allow owners to bring their pets on vacation with them, offering dog beds, food, bowls and a park for them to play in, such as the Trump International Hotel and Plaza.
