A young pit bull had quite the adventure on a freeway as he played in traffic over the course of two days, reports the Chicago Sun-Times
The little trouble maker, who's been given the name Ike, after the the expressway he was playing on, the Eisenhower, is safe and sound after police were able to finally catch him.
Ike chose rush-hour as his playtime of choice, darting in between cars and almost being hit by a semi-truck.
He spent hours running around the freeway and avoiding capture until he grew tired and finally surrendered, the news source reports.
"As soon as he lay down in the back of my car, he fell asleep," officer Antonio Santucci told the news source after he caught the dog.
Ike was taken to the animal hospital after his capture where he settled in for some rest and relaxation and was given an IV. He was examined and no serious injuries were found.
He was caught without tags or a collar, so as of right now his owner remains a mystery. The animal hospital has been fielding calls from people inquiring about him.Animal rescue
