First Annual New England Pet Expo will bring pet fans together

Everything from cat aromatherapy to pet vaccines to bullet-proof dog vests will be at the First Annual New England Pet Expo this weekend, The Boston Globe reports.

The expo, at the Aleppo Shriners Auditorium in Wilmington, welcomes owners and their pets to the event, which will take place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

"There isn’t another event like ours in the Boston area, and New England is very pet-friendly," Courtney Rydstrom, director of show production for the expo, told the news source. "You can bring your whole family for the day including your dogs, cats, ferrets, guinea pigs, snakes, lizards and birds, and have a really good, fun day."

There will be 165 exhibitors at the expo, ranging from retailers to groomers, veterinarians to trainers, Rydstrom said. In addition to the prizes and giveaways that will be available to guests, they can watch agility dogs complete obstacle courses, or participate in pet talent shows and costume contests.

The expo's website reports that pets can get low-cost vaccinations and microchips at the event thanks to SimpleCare for Pets. There will also be an adoption section.
