Gear was one of several dogs rescued earlier this year during a law enforcement raid of an illegal dog fight ring. With the help of ASPCA, he was sent to Longmont Humane Society in Colorado to be socialized for adoption.
“Their wonderful behavior team whipped him into shape,” said Jessica Rushin of ASPCA. “He was adopted by an loving family and they sent us a note and picture of him in his new home!”
Ashley, who adopted Gear from Longmont, wrote:
“This is Bear (his new name) now and he is the new love of my life! He is completely potty trained now and sits nicely. We're still working on him jumping up on people but he's a very good boy and very smart. He loves everyone who he meets and cuddles with anyone who walks into my home. He's just a sweetheart. He gets a little excited around other dogs on a leash, but I have taken him to my doggie daycare and he does great!
When we first got him, he was obviously afraid of really any loud noises, especially cars passing by, but now he is very confident walking down the street. Me and my family are very much in love! The ASPCA saved a great dog and we are very appreciative of them!”
