GreaterGood Grants Help Clean-Up Aftermath of Oklahoma Tornado

A GreaterGood disaster grant supported Team Rubicon's efforts to clean-up tornado damage following the multiple strikes in Oklahoma in May.

Team Rubicon's volunteers from across the country spent their Memorial Day weekend in Moore, OK, in Operation Starting Gun. The organization recruits military veterans as volunteers, using their skills to help victims of natural disasters. Volunteers went down street after street, assessing damage, asking home owners what type of help that they needed, and then providing labor for everything from sawing up tree trunks to patching roofs.

Friends Remembered During Clean-Up

Team Rubicon members paused in their work on Memorial Day to remember fallen friends and family members. Many who participated said that this was how they would have wanted to spend their holiday, by giving back to others.

GreaterGood supports Team Rubicon and their efforts through contributions from Gifts That Give More and The Veterans Site.
