GreaterGood.org Gives More $370,000 To Free Mammogram Programs

One of GreaterGood.org's oldest and most important programs for women's health has been sponsoring free mammogram programs throughout the United States. By providing access for women and men who cannot afford this diagnostic test, the first step to early detection and effective treatment is taken.

"We are pleased to report that we received $372,924.77 from GreaterGood.org during our fiscal year 2013," said Rebecca Anderson of the National Breast Cancer Foundation in September.

NBCF has used that funding to pay for free mammogram programs at hospitals and clinics throughout the United States. They estimate that nearly 4,000 mammograms were provided due to GreaterGood.org's support.

Other significant grants for women's health and cancer prevention/treatment given so far this year include $50,000 in March to the University of Michigan's Comprehensive Cancer Care Center to support for their work into providing more effective and precise treatments for breast cancer and others.

Also GreaterGood.org continues to give grants to Partners In Health for their cancer programs in developing nations such as Rwanda and support research at Mayo Clinic.

As part of the core mission of improving women's health worldwide, GreaterGood.org will continue to expand its support of programs aimed at providing easy access for all to effective breast cancer screening, better outcomes for current methods of treatment, and continuing research into a cure.

GreaterGood.org's support of programs aimed at prevention, early diagnosis, and treatment of breast cancer are made possible through support of The Breast Cancer Site, Gifts That Give More, and others.
