Guinness Book of World Records features 13 jump roping dogs
Sep 16, 2011
Thirteen dogs made the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records for their ability to jump rope at the same time, AllPetNews.com reports.
The coordinated canines set the record for the most dogs skipping on the same rope, the news source reports. And the dogs' owners say it began purely on accident.
"One day Mayonnaise, an incredibly curious poodle, started to try and skip with us," one dog handler at Uchida Geinousha's 'Super Wan Wan Circus' told the news source. "She clearly really enjoyed it and we decided to get the other dogs involved. It’s become part of their playtime."
The session started out as a jump roping activity for humans, but they found that the dogs had a knack for it too, the news source reports.
The 13 dogs join a host of other extraordinary dogs that were published for their feats or traits in the book this year. According to the Guinness World Records website, dogs broke records for the loudness of their bark, their agility, the length of their ears and more.
