The Hamptons may be synonymous with people living in the lap of luxury, but some denizens of the seaside town are taking a break from the good life to help out their furry friends.
According to Bloomberg.com
, the 12th annual Beach Ball will take place this Saturday night in order to raise money for the Animal Rescue Fund, a pet welfare organization in the area.
The animals "appreciate that they've been given a chance and they know their lives have been rescued," Gale Drukier, wife of hotelier Ira Drukier, told the news source. "When you give this kind of kindness, it's warmth that extends to the animal and the family that adopts this animal."
The event will be held at the elite Bridgehampton Tennis & Surf Club, where attendees will indulge in delicious cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, dinner and dancing. Last year, the soiree raised $245,000 for the organization.
According to its website, the Animal Rescue Fund is dedicated toward finding pets in the Hamptons a loving home in order to improve the lives of animals and the people who adopt them.
