Kittens at People For PetsFirst time Shelter+ Challenge grant recipient People For Pets will use the money to help pay for vet bills.

The popular program was launched in 2008 and, as of December 2011, will have given out $910,000 to Petfinder.com Network members in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

The Shelter+ Challenge made possible by support from The Animal Rescue Site. A complete list of past grant recipients can be found here.
