Jane Lynch is best known from her performance as the hilarious gym teacher Sue Sylvester on Glee, but it looks like the funnylady gets serious when it comes to animals.
The actress and comedienne currently stars in a commercial for PETA, where she encourages pet owners to spay and neuter their furry companions.
"The good folks at PETA asked me to say a few words about the importance of good posture and personal hygiene - but I don't want to talk about that," she says in the ad. "I want to talk about the four million dogs and cats who are euthanized every year because there aren't enough homes for all of them."
It looks like Lynch is on target with her statistics. According to AmericanHumane.org, 64 percent of pets that enter animal rescue
shelters are euthanized.
According to E! Online
, Lynch has made several tear-jerking visits to city pounds.
"I emotionally break down. I want to adopt them all," she told the news outlet.
People who are looking for a four-legged addition to their family should visit their local animal shelter to take a look at its residents. The choice could help save an animal's life!
