We all think our pets are the best, but it looks like one pint-sized pony has the credentials to back up this claim.
AARP recently sponsored the Most Heroic Pet
contest, and the winner was Magic, a miniature, blue-eyed therapy horse.
The tear jerking tale that nabbed the first-place spot for the stallion was described by his owner, Jorge Garcia-Bengochea, in an essay he submitted to the news source.
The proud pet owner described how "a woman who had not spoken since she arrived at an assisted care facility more than three years earlier suddenly began talking to Magic."
"The woman has continued to talk to everyone from that day on, a life changed because of a special horse," Garcia-Bengochea told the news outlet.
The horse, who visits children and adults in hospitals and retirement homes, helps put a simle on the faces of patients who are suffering from cancer and heart disease.
