Located on the Guatemala-Honduras border, Sierra Caral is the single most bio-diverse forest remnant on earth, and one of the most threatened. Approximately 35% of the amphibians living in this area are listed as "threatened," with ten other species now listed as “critically endangered” or “endangered.” Five of these species are found nowhere else in the world.
Currently the World Land Trust-US is partnering with Fundación para el Ecodesarrollo y la Conservación (FUNDAECO) to buy and protect 5,436 acres of key properties strategically located across Sierra Caral.
