Newspaper workers come together to fund animal rescue

The video that inspired such action was made by the Detroit Dog Rescue organization and was posted on its website. The director of newspaper circulations, Michael Muszall, saw the video and found it so memorable that he put it on Facebook.
"I watched the video and posted it on my Facebook page. I found it quite compelling. The sheer number is incredible," said Muszall.
The number that Muszall is referencing is 50,000. That is how many stray dogs are without homes in the area around Detroit.
Muszall and other co-workers eventually acquired more than 330 pounds of food for donation to the animal shelter. They also amassed large quantities of supplies such as leashes and collars.
There are many things that one can do in order to participate in the effort to support animal shelters. One of the problems that shelters face is overpopulation and overcrowding. Unfortunately, many animals end up being euthanized due to this problem. Spaying and neutering is one of the most important ways to decrease animal overpopulation.
