A large puppy mill was closed in Missouri, leaving countless pooches in grave danger of being put down since they did not have a place to go. Luckily, organizations from across the country came to their rescue.
The dogs were found living in deplorable conditions, but as MyFoxTwinCities.com
reports, they were saved from these heinous surroundings and are now looking for loving homes. The USDA had found that the property where the animals were being kept was in serious violation of cruelty laws, prompting the operators to close their doors and sell off what they had.
Paws for a Cause is a rescue group based out of Minnesota that helped lend a hand in securing these lovable pups a home. The had attended an auction where the canines were bid on by several organizations who then took them back to their home states. They rescued nine dogs in total and are now looking for homes for the remaining five dogs.
According to the Humane Society, puppy mills are often noted for producing dogs that are born with health and behavioral problems due to the conditions they are raised in.
