Amy Hughes is animal lover at heart, and when she rescued two adorable kittens from a local rescue shelter
, she wanted to give back to the charitable organization, The Saffron Walden Reporter
Hughes has organized a jumble sale, which is like a giant garage sale of second-hand items, with the proceeds going to the animal rescue from which she adopted her two cats.
"The two kittens I re-homed had been dumped in box in a thunderstorm in Stansted and were thankfully found by a dog walker. I just knew then that I had to help make sure the charity stayed open to help animals
in need," she told the news source.
This is the second year she has organized the fundraiser. She said that it was so popular last year that she had to do it again, and that she hopes to make it an annual event.
"Due to popular demand I'm hoping to make it an annual event. The feeling of handing over that cheque was fantastic," she told the news provider.
