Two kittens rescued from garbage bins

Mary Bale, the woman who callously tossed a cat into a garbage bin in the United Kingdom, caused quite a stir across the pond. Now, it looks as though a similar case is getting the public's attention in the United States.

According to PeoplePets.com, two newborn kittens were discovered in a garbage bin in Dorchester, Massachusetts last week. Resident Shareka Young spotted the animals and instantly called the MSPCA, where they are currently receiving foster care.

"They'll be hand-fed every few hours until they learn to eat on their own," Brian Adams, a spokesman for the organization told the news outlet. "Once they're two pounds and about 8 weeks old, they'll come back to the shelter to be put up for adoption."

While the individual responsible for the cruel act has yet to be found, authorities are asking for the public's help in order to locate the culprit.

The Humane Society of the United States reports that between six to eight million animals enter shelters every year.
