While every pet owner fears something horrible happening to their furry friend, a couple in the United Kingdom recently had quite the scare.
According to AnimalFriends.org
, John and Lindsay Power were walking with their beloved mutt, Bean, in Matlock when the pooch suddenly disappeared. After searching for two days, John and his son, Joe, discovered that their dog fell down a mine shaft.
With the help of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), an animal rescue
team was enabled. Officials were able to lower a basket into the hole and coax the frightened pooch to step inside.
"I was so worried that I would never see him again ... it's just miraculous that he has managed to survive this so unscathed," John told the news outlet. Thankfully, Bean came out of the incident bruised but otherwise completely fine.
While Bean had a happy ending, people should make sure to be careful while walking their canines. Pet owners are always advised to keep their furry friends on a leash.
