Woofstock is a pet adoption and music festival in Tacoma, Washington, that celebrates animals and their human companions, Tacoma Weekly
The fourth annual event will be taking place August 7, and everyone is encouraged to attend for a great time filled with live music, food and adorable pets available for adoption.
The festival is coordinated by the Dugan Foundation and Pawsitive Alliance, which has brought together 27 different animal rescue
organizations, food and merchandise vendors and music talent to help create a family-friendly atmosphere for people of all ages to enjoy.
"It's an adoption event where people who have pets can have a picnic and enjoy the day, walk around, get pet info and samples," Andrea Logan, board member of Pawsitive Alliance, told the news source.
Organizers estimate that over 200 animals will be up for adoption, including cats, dogs, hamsters, ferrets and rabbits.
Coordinators say their goal is to help animals
find loving homes, and that the event is meant to act as a catalyst and allow individuals who are thinking about adopting a pet a chance to interact with one.
The Humane Society estimates that there are over 135 million cats and dogs living in homes in the United States.
