Being Simon-ized

I just lost my Russian Blue mix, Benson, whom I had raised from 6 weeks to 16 years. Heartbroken doesn't cover my grief.

My girlcat, Bella, missed Benson too. She kept looking for him.

So I contacted a local cat rescue who had another big Russian Blue in need.

I learned the big cat found a home, but the rescue lady convinced me to "just hold" the 'little blonde' alone in his cage. Blonde? I wear black a lot. Light colored fur is so noticeable.
She handed me "Jack" and he nestled in, falling asleep in my arms.

How could I put him back in that cold cage?

"Jack" came home with me. He is now known as "Simon"- as he is a Siamese Tabby. Needy as all heck and a lovebug extreme.

Turns out his former family moved, leaving him behind.
They just left him.
Alone.

Simon will never be left behind again. He is safe and loved now.
I'm covered in light colored fur, daily. But it's worth it, knowing Simon is happy.
