I’ve always had dogs in the house when I was growing up. I wasn’t allowed to have one to call MINE because we already had a full house. So when I moved out early this year, I was determined to adopt a puppy of my own. My mom tried to convince me not to by saying how big of a responsibility it would be, but I knew what I was getting myself into and I didn’t care because I knew it’d be worth it. I had gone onto petfinder.com and contacted some local shelters, but none of them ever got back to me with answers to my questions. Then one day, while out to lunch, my boyfriend and I stopped at the local PETCO where Noah’s Bark has pet adoptions every Saturday. That’s when I saw her playing with one of the other puppies. She was no more than 3 months old and 10 lbs at the time. They found her a few weeks earlier tied to a pole at a construction site with no food or water. She was so happy, energetic, and loveable. I instantly loved her. The next weekend I went back to take her home. Now, 2 months later, she 5 months old, 30 lbs, and is still growing. She can be a bit of a handful at times, but I wouldn’t trade her for anything. She loves to play with people and other dogs, and she loves giving lots of kisses. She was what I was missing in my life.
