In 1999 my soon to be husband, Jimee, was driving to the local Petco. There was an accident on the freeway causing him to take a detour but there was another Petco where he ended up. He went in and noticed a pen of dogs up for adoption wherein one little white dog got up and greeted anyone who would look into the pen. The pup had a bad limp but was so friendly, my husband could not resist saying hello to the little dog.

Although my husband had never had a dog in his life, he picked up the little white doggie and he instantly fell asleep in Jimee's arms. Jimee knew at that moment that this was his dog.

His name was Gizmo and it was a match made in heaven. Jimee adopted Giz right then and the next day he was at the vet getting checked out.

Gizmo had spent his 8-10? years in a crate as a Pomeranian breeder stud in a small apartment with 21 other dogs owned by an incapacitated woman. Luckily she was reported and her home was raided. Giz was put up for adoption the next day with all his physical problems. Besides his bad nutrition, his teeth were rotten and loose and his toenails were so long they were curled and his feet were crooked. He had bad back legs, too. The vet repaired all he could and Giz came to his forever home. He went to work with Jimee every day and he was welcomed everywhere.

This dog was SO beautiful that he would stop traffic wherever we went.

It was an honor and a privilege to have Gizmo Dee on our lives. Our Giz died in 2005 but we will never forget him.
