This is another barfly cat, more of a kitten though, that I picked up at a bar. I am still trying to find her possible home as she is in good health, no fleas, very friendly and litter-box trained. But I found her in a bar parking lot, right by a main road, where lots of cats are dumped, thinking they'll be able to eat out of the dumpster or something. She was just so small, so sweet and so scared that I had to bring her home. She will join my ex-feral, ex-tomcat Tommy as his friend as none my other cats will play with him. Their introduction was seamless and they seem to like each other. No worries, she'll be spayed, if she's old enough.

In trying to name her, I kept feeling that she already had a name if I could just figure it out. Sunday morning after her Friday night rescue, I was rolling over in bed and I heard a voice say "Her name is Layla", clear as a bell. I thought Eric Clapton had snuck into my room but no one was there. So her name is Layla now. It means Night in Arabic. I guess it refers to the night I found her. She is a ray of sunshine otherwise and I feel honored to have been chosen to be her mom.
