Milagro and her three puppies were found on a lakeside lot in Mexico, all almost starved to death. They were taken to a nearby shelter, who were going to euthanize them all. A volunteer at the shelter offered to foster them all, as well as another small puppy. She found homes for all the puppies once they were old enough. Then I saw Milagro parading around town with her foster mom and an "Adopt Me" sign on her back. It was love at first sight! Over six years later she's the most loyal, lovable, smart, hiking-loving half-Chihuahua. We live in the desert now, and she loves chasing lizards, but luckily they are too fast for her!
The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food and vital care for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters every year in the U.S., as well as animals in desperate need around the world. Over four million animals are put to death each year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
Each click on the purple "Click Here to Give — it's FREE!" button at The Animal Rescue Site provides food and care for a rescued animal in need.
