My Gita

Gita was a Rescue Dog I adopted as my Mothers' Day gift to me in 2007. She was to be "euthanized in 48 hrs. if not adopted. She was 8 years old when we brought her home with us. I drove from PA to the NY/NJ border to meet with her Rescuers and bring her home. Her first night as a "City Slicker" turned "Country Bumpkin" dog was amazing. She was mesmerized by all the sounds of birds, etc.! Our 7 cats adored her and we referred to them as her Harem! Neighbors called her "Bat Dog" due to her huge ears! She loved everyone and any creature who came into our yard. Sadly my Gita had an Undiagnosed Heart Condition and we had to put her down only 16 mos. later. I wish that everyone could experience the love and loyalty of a pet. They give you unconditional love and so much more. And age has no bearing on the love they give you. So do not pass by the "Ol' Timers". Give them a chance. You won't be sorry.................................. I know I'm not!
