My new begining

I had to put my cat Smokey down after 15 years with her and I just could not handle being alone. I missed my fur baby so much. So I went down to the human society to see about adopting a new cat. I had several cats that I was interested in, but the staff kept bring me to one black and red torti. Wasn't really interested in meeting her but I finally said sure. Her name was Morticia, and she was a very sweet loving cat. After about 5 minutes I was asked if I wanted to meet one of the cats I was interested in. But when I said yes Morticia laid down on my lap and would not move. In that moment I knew I had been adopted. I could not leave with out her. One hour and a name change later Mika (Me Ka), which means new moon, was happily laying on my lap while I was doing some reading. She is my little shadow following me everywhere and I am so glad she picked me on that snowy January night.
