My tattoo shop works with the town of babylon animal shelter and one day I got a call about a chi that was vicious and no one would adopt. I went down to meet him and he was as they said , mean and fast almost too fast. After sitting with him a while he started to warm up and allow me to pet him. The next day my husband went to meet him and alone they were fine but as soon as he picked him up he attacked him. We left thinking wow he may be too much for even us. The next morning I got a call that he was going to be put down if we didn't take him. Well having 3 other chi's and a shep/chow all rescues there was no way we could allow this to happen. We raced over with a carrier and picked him up. it is now about 4 months and even though he still doesn't really like my husband he has assimilated to the pack and sleeps on our bed and loves to get belly rubs and play outside. He would be dead right now and we would never have known this little semi senior guy and the love he so desperately wanted to show he had in him ...Now he's part of the pack with Cleo , Peewee, Nacho, and Teddy and of course I'm the pack leader and my husband hates that LOL
