I was in a nearby country store and farm called, "Windmill Farms." As we were talking, a sweet tortoiseshell kitty came up to the screen door of the shop, and meowed at me! I asked about her, and the owner told me that someone had dumped her there a few weeks previously. She looked to be about 8-9 months old. I instantly felt a tug that I needed to also rescue this sweet faced kitty!~
I drove home to get our cat carrier, and some wet cat food. The poor thing was so skittish, and scared of all of us.After several failed attempts to catch her, the owner agreed to set an animal trap so we could bring her in to a safe place. It was only the next day, the owner called me, and said, "She's in the cage! Come get her!!'
We drove over, and could her her yelling to get out. We put her in the back of the car, and drove her to her new home. I told my husband that he should put on gloves since she could be feral, and somewhat wild. She clung onto the cage, and I thought sure she would claw both of us in an attempt to escape! Well, as soon as we got her out, she instantly, started to purr, and rubbed against me!! It was so amazing...
We have had her eight months now, and she follows me everywhere! She is the most loving, affectionate kitty, and sits right next to me, or on my lap every time I sit down. She is always waiting on the other side of the door when I come in. We named her 'Millie' after finding her at 'Windmill Farms.' She brought so much joy to our family, and we love her!
