I was sitting in the Vet's to get insulin for Cocoa, when a woman walked in holding a kitten. She told everyone that a man had thrown him from his car and she had rescued him, but was allergic so she couldn't keep him. A man called and asked his wife if they could adopt and she said NO. This happened several times and I didn't say a word. My husband had put his foot down and said no more cats(we have 7). When the woman asked the vet, he said"We are not a rescue office, all we can do is put him down." The woman started to cry and someone else suggested the pound, but another man said they would just put him down too,THAT's when I stood up and said "Give him to me..." Mike was soooo mad when I walked out with the kitten!"I KNEW as soon as I saw her with that kitten, that you would come out with it!!" He argued all the way home about keeping him. I promised to find him a forever home, so he settled down. Scooter's right front paw is damaged and he walks on his elbow. He is 4-5 weeks old, still trying to nurse, and is full of himself. It took a few days for him to not cry and tremble everytime someone picked him up, but he has adjusted. Now he flies around attacking your feet, balls of paper, and tries to play with my other cats, but they are still miffed about ANOTHER cat being brought home. It's been 2 weeks and Mike told me the other day that Scooter was staying....I just smiled, I knew when I got him that he was coming to his forever home...
