I'm by and far not a dog person, but my wife is. Several years ago, we were forced to give our dog up, and until a month ago, there was a void in our lives neither of us could explain. After getting a diagnosis of some health issues, it was determined that having a pet would be beneficial for her, so we began searching. After three failed attempts at getting a pet through locals, she talked to a friend several hundred miles from us. She told my wife about an animal rescue in her area that had a pug/chihuahua mix named Angel. We knew little about this dog other than her name and that she had come from an very abusive home. She came to us afraid of her own shadow, and now, through the love and attention she gets daily, Angel has turned our lives around as much as she has ours.
