Washed Away ?

A co-worker returned from her afternoon walk and handed me a tiny kitten wrapped in a dish towel ! Found crying in the bushes bordering a delivery driveway the poor little thing was wet, cold , hungry and very distraught. We had just experienced several days of considerable rain - had this baby been washed away ? I hoped we had not interfered with a momma cat moving her litter to drier ground but I knew we could not leave this kitten in such a dangerous place ! So I told myself that the dish towel found nearby was a sign that she had been dumped and I raced to the pet store for formula and a bottle. Our vet estimated her to be about three weeks old.
Wysiwyg has been a "snuggle-buddy" to our senior boy cat for almost 3 years now. She is "Daddy's Baby Girl " and has assumed Alarm Clock Duty so that our old fella can sleep in. Wysi taught me how to bottle feed kittens and she taught Ziggy to accept new kittens. Together , Wysi and Ziggy are now teaching "kitty manners" to the orphans that I foster for our local no-kill shelter and Wysiwyg is having a grand time letting the little ones chase her !
