I lost my Scruffy kitty of 13 years to cancer of the tongue in August 2011. I was heartbroken and knew I wasn't ready for a replacement. By Thanksgiving I knew I missed having kitty paws walk on me in the morning before gettin out of bed. My daughter searched to find me a kitten for Christmas. What she found was a 4 year old Himalayan mix. Sashi's foster told us she was not a lap kitty. Well it only took 2 nights for her to find that the best place to sleep was with me in my recliner! All I have to do is walk to the chair and she is waiting for me to sit down. She is thriving and loves being the center of my attention. And yes, she has started to walk on me in the mornings and we are both content.

The Animal Rescue Site focuses the power of the Internet on a specific need — providing food and vital care for some of the eight million unwanted animals given to shelters every year in the U.S., as well as animals in desperate need around the world. Over four million animals are put to death each year in the U.S. alone because they are abandoned and unwanted.
