Curling a tail around sea ferns, this charming seahorse is as beautiful as the underwater world it inhabits. Alfredo Inga creates the brooch in filigree, filling the shapes with strands of pure silver. He gives his design a dark finish.

Artisan Alfredo Inga

Alfredo Inga: "I'm from Catacao, northern Peru, considered the 'City of Filigree.' I began to learn this art when I was 11 years old, with friends who taught me little by little. I enjoy it because a jeweler's work is a delicate art. My inspiration comes from nature, especially from flowers. I was awarded a scholarship to study with a professor from Israel. I was offered the chance to teach filigree in Israel. But I love Peru too much to leave."
